If you have old welding electrodes in your garage or workshop that are no longer suitable for work, do not rush to throw them away anyway!
Why? Yes, everything is simple - you can make a simple, but useful template for transferring (copying) the contours of water pipes and other elements.
As you may have guessed, this device will be especially useful when laying tiles in the bathroom and in the kitchen. First of all, it will be necessary to beat off the coating from the electrodes with a hammer.
By the way, instead of electrodes, you can use ordinary steel bars with a diameter of 3-4 mm. Even spokes from a bicycle wheel will do. For details on how to make a template from cycling spokes, read this review.
The main stages of work
We cut off the bars of the desired length by the grinder. It will also be necessary to prepare two rectangular steel plates. They will need to drill four mounting holes.
We insert four bolts into the holes of one of the plates, and put on top of them two narrow plates. Their thickness should be similar to the thickness of the rods.
We lay the rods on the bottom plate, after which we cover with the top plate and fix with nuts.
