For primary processing of metal and wood blanks, a rasp is used. This tool is a “relative” of the file, but has larger notches.
In this review, the author shows how you can make a rasp with your own hands in a home workshop and garage.
This will require cut strips of sheet metal, old saw blades for the pendulum saw and an aluminum profile of a U-shape. You can use a profile pipe, having previously cut off one of the walls.
The main stages of work
The manufacturing process of the tool itself does not take much time. First of all, it will be necessary to drill holes in the profile.
Then saw blades and strips of sheet metal are stacked in profile (they need to be laid alternately).
In the next step, you need to make a wooden handle and drill a hole in it. Then this handle is inserted into the profile and fixed with a bolt and nut.
So that the saw blades along with the metal strips do not fall out during operation, the author fixes them with a bolt and nut (for this, holes were drilled in the profile).
Then you will need to install a round plastic handle, and the homemade product is completely ready for work.
