Cutlery made of wood is in great demand, and is also often an element of decor in the interior. In this case, a wooden spoon is easy to do with your own hands. You only need to make a device that will facilitate the work.
First of all, the author cuts an oval-shaped workpiece from a sheet metal. Then he cuts off a piece of steel round bar with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of about 25 mm. In it, you need to make a longitudinal slot in the middle.
A blank of sheet metal is then inserted into the slot, and scalded. Next, the protruding edges of the round billet should be sharpened with a grinder (make a cutting edge).
The process of making a wooden spoon
At the next stage, the author drills a hole in a wooden bar, into which then he inserts one of the “tails” of the previously manufactured billet from a steel bar and an oval metal plate (the length of each shank is 9 cm).
In this case, the hole should be larger than the diameter of the "tail". A wooden block is attached to the table with a clamp (or you can fix it in another way convenient for you).
The second "tail" of the bar is inserted into the chuck of a screwdriver or drill. Also, a wooden blank is attached to the table, in which you need to make a recess for the spoon.
Then everything is very simple: with the help of this device, a depression is made. Next, using a hand saw, you need to cut out the spoon itself with the handle.
Then the author processes the spoon with a petal circle and fine sandpaper. At the last stage, it remains only to drill a hole in the handle and cover the spoon with oil. You can use edible oil (linseed, sunflower, etc.) or a mixture of oil and beeswax.
