In this review, the author proposes to give a second life to the old diamond blade, which has already "unwound its term", making it a universal cutting disc for the grinder.
According to the author, this home-made disk will be able to saw chipboard, plywood, OSB, laminate and even plexiglass. In general, they can cut all materials except stone, metal and ordinary glass.
And the first step is to print a paper stencil, based on the size of the disk itself. Of course, it is advisable to use a large diamond wheel 230 mm.
Then you need to cut the printed stencil along the contour and stick it to the disk. For this, the most ordinary stationery glue stick is suitable. And then we cut out the grinder according to the pattern.
The main stages of work
Next, you need to drill four damper holes, as well as make cuts. At the same time, note that the slots must be made at a small positive angle relative to the center of the disk.
So that in the process of work the universal cutting wheel does not clamp, it will be necessary to make a tooth bite (about 1-2 mm). Moreover, for this it is better to use a special tool that will allow you to withstand the same angle of inclination for all teeth.
If a grinder with speed control or a polishing machine is available, then before using it, it is advisable to check a home-made disk for runout, starting from low speeds.
At the last stage, it remains only to sharpen the teeth, and you can already check the disk in operation. For details on how to make a universal cutting wheel with your own hands from an old diamond blade, we recommend that you look in the video on our website.
