Mikarta is a laminate based on fabric and polymers. It has good durability, does not absorb liquids, and also has decorative and tactile properties.
The main stages of work
First, the master draws a knife template on paper. Then he cuts it out and transfers it to a circular disk, and cuts it out with a grinder.
Next, the workpiece must be processed on a belt grinding machine, as well as using a dremel. Then the master does the hardening and tempering of the metal. He performs the finishing processing of the blade already on sandpaper.
By the way, note that in this knife there is a central hole for holding with your finger, which is very convenient.
After that, the master cuts the Micarta canvas into pieces of the desired size, and glues them with epoxy. The resulting bars must be processed, giving them the necessary shape, and then attached to the handle.
