Homemade metal tube can be used to store and carry welding electrodes. It is very convenient, and at the same time, the electrodes will be cleaned from negative environmental factors. If you are engaged in welding, then making such a tube will not be a problem.
For the manufacture of the tube, a profile pipe of 80 * 80 mm will be required, as well as trimming of sheet metal. Well, and, of course, the welding machine - where without it.
First, the master cuts two segments of the profile pipe of the required length (along the length of the electrodes themselves -+ small stock). You also need to cut off the lid, the end of which is clogged with a metal plate and scalded.
The main stages of work
The end of the profile pipe also needs to be brewed by cutting a piece of sheet metal that is suitable in size. The plate thickness is approximately 2-3 mm. This is quite enough. The seams must be cleaned with an angle grinder with a petal circle.
At the next stage, you need to connect the lid to the tube body using a furniture hinge (you can, of course, screw it onto the “fleas”, but it will be more reliable by welding). A metal latch is also attached.
Then it remains only to degrease the surface of the metal, and paint. You can see the detailed process of making a homemade tube for storing welding electrodes in the video on our website.
