Using a home-made cold forging machine, you can bend decorative products to decorate gardens, summer cottages and home gardens. The author uses pre-prepared bars as the main blanks. They are made from a regular plastic bottle.
First, the bottle is cut into strips 10 mm wide. Then, under the influence of hot air from a hair dryer, they are twisted into "cables". After that, one end of the “cable” is fixed on the swivel, and the second is inserted into the chuck of a screwdriver.
Prepared ribbons are wound on a “cable” in 6-7 layers and then blown with a hairdryer. The design of the cold forging machine itself is very simple. It is possible to assemble this device from improvised materials that often lie idle.
Features of the design of a homemade machine
This device is a base and two templates of different sizes, which are fixed on it. As the basis, you can use chipboard, plywood or a regular piece from the board. A swivel is fixed in the corner of the base.
Two circles with cuts, cut out of plywood, act as templates. To make these circles, you can use a crown of a suitable size or a ballerina.
The base is attached to the table with a clamp. You can also screw on the screws. One circle of plywood is fixed on the base motionless, and the second (larger diameter) is movable. This is necessary so that you can pull the edge of the bar.
