If you often work on a drilling machine, a universal clamp made from an ordinary manual clamp may come in handy. With this simple homemade product, you can fix various workpieces, as well as metal and wood products.

To make such a universal clamp, you need a manual clamp ("dog"). And the first thing you need to cut off one of the clamping jaws. Then we clean the cut place with a grinder and weld a piece of steel strip. The strip length is approximately 10 cm.

Then it will be necessary to weld a stand, machined on a lathe, to the free end of the metal strip. It is a support in the form of a truncated cone, which is in contact with the surface of the desktop.

The main stages of work

Mark and cut off the second piece of the strip of metal that needs to be welded to the clamping sponge on a manual clip. To do this, on the strip, we make the oblique slice of the grinder at an angle - in the shape of the sponge itself. Next, we expose the strip and sponge end-to-end, grab and scald.

After that, cut the strip to size (the length of the horizontal plate is at your discretion). At the last stage of work, it is necessary to weld a piece of a round bar with a pressing nick to the free edge of the strip. At the same time, pay attention - the nickle itself must be movable.
