If the screwdriver “unwinds” (does not hold the cartridge or the speed of rotation is not regulated by pressing a button - in general, it does not work correctly), you can find a worthy application for it. For example, on the basis of an old cordless screwdriver, you get a universal machine for a workshop.
To make the machine truly versatile, you will also need a screwdriver attachment, which can be ordered at Aliexpress. It is used for cutting and sawing sheet steel, as well as other metal parts and workpieces. On the other side of the nozzle, cutting metal shears are provided.
How to make a universal machine
The first step is to make the frame of a homemade machine. For this, we will use profile tubes of square section with side dimensions of 20x20 mm. It is necessary to cut two pieces of 50, 35 and 20 cm long. At the next stage, we weld a rectangular frame.
The table top for the machine can be made of moisture-proof plywood. We fix the countertop to the frame, after which we install a double-sided nozzle for a screwdriver - it is mounted under the table on a metal strip using wing bolts with nuts.
At the exit point of the file, it will be necessary to make two round inserts that can be cut from an aluminum sheet about 2-3 mm thick. Using a manual milling cutter, we make a recess in plywood for installing the insert - it is fastened to the bolts with sweat, and on the reverse side the second insert is fixed using a special nut.
