If you are professionally engaged in metal machining on a lathe, this idea will definitely appeal to you. Moreover, its implementation will require a minimum of materials and time.
To make a decorative hammer with a removable head, it will be necessary to prepare:
- round steel blank;
- round bar;
- two bolts (preferably made of brass).
All work is performed on a lathe. To cut the threads inside the removable head and on the handle, you will need a hand tap and a die. You will also need a special device for applying notches to the metal surface.
The main stages of work
First, we process on a lathe a steel blank of a suitable diameter. Please note that in this case there is no need to adhere to any clear-cut algorithms - improvise as you please.
After machining, drill a through hole in the center and cut the thread in it with a tap. Next, we proceed to the processing of steel round timber, which will be used as a hammer handle. First we make a corrugated surface, after which we mill one edge and cut the thread with a die.
