Simple tool for removing bearings from the shaft

With bare hands, it is very difficult to remove the bearing from the motor shaft. But this is not necessary. In such cases, a special device is usually used - a bearing puller, which can be made with your own hands from inexpensive materials.

To make a puller, you will need to trim a steel plate, two square-section rods, a stud, a regular nut, and a round washer. An angle grinder with a cutting disc will be required for cutting workpieces, and a welding machine for connecting parts.

The main stages of work

First of all, cut a piece of about 15-20 cm long from the hairpin, the end of which is sharpened on a cone on an emery machine or using a grinder. At a distance of 1-2 cm from the lower edge, a round washer is welded, which acts as a limiter.

A short segment of a stud or a steel rod is welded to the upper end, but first a nut is screwed onto a long stud, to which a rectangular plate is welded. Next, we take another steel plate, in the lower part of which we cut a small piece in the form of a trapezoid.

At the edges of the base, vertical posts of two steel squares are welded. A part of the structure with a stud is welded on top. Then it remains only to clean the surface of the device and the homemade bearing puller is ready for use.
