This homemade product will be especially interesting and useful to all amateurs, as well as professionals who are involved in photo and video shooting in nature. The floating design makes it possible to get high-quality frames in motion!
Since the operator cannot perfectly hold the smartphone or camera in his hands (especially in windy weather or when constantly approaching the subject), in this case it is more advisable to use a tripod with the stabilization function, which you can make yourself.
The main stages of work
The first thing we cut off from plastic pipes of different diameters (50 mm and 75 mm) is two rings with a width of about 2-3 cm. We process the edges of the workpieces with sandpaper to smooth out all the irregularities and remove roughness.
Then we insert the plastic rings into each other, having previously cut one of them with a hacksaw across the metal - this is necessary in order to increase the wall thickness, and fix it with glue. The result should be two parts that are different in diameter.
In each ring, you need to drill two holes (opposite each other) with a diameter of 16 mm to install small bearings with an inner diameter of 5 mm.
In a long plastic tube with a diameter of 12 mm at the desired height, it is necessary to drill a through hole with a diameter of 5 mm for M5 bolts. We drill the same holes in plastic rings. Then we collect everything together. The result is a home-made "floating" tripod with stabilization for the camera or smartphone.
