When it is necessary to cut a large number of workpieces of the same size, instead of marking each segment with a marker and tape measure, you can use a simple home-made template for cutting metal with a grinder.
For the manufacture of this template, simple and affordable materials will be required: a profile pipe, a corner, pieces of a plate. Of the basic tools, an angle grinder with a cutting disc and a welding machine will be required.
First of all, it will be necessary to cut a piece of the profile pipe of the desired length, and then use the grinder to cut one of the walls. The result should be an open box. Its edges must be cleaned so that there are no burrs left.
The main stages of work
To the workpiece from the profile pipe, you will need to weld a piece of the corner with the edge down. After that, we drill a through hole in the profile wall. You will also need to cut off a piece of metal strip that will match the width of the wall of the profile pipe.
Further, in this strip, a longitudinal slot for the fixing bolt must be made using an angle grinder. At the end of the metal strip, a piece of plate is vertically welded at a right angle.
At the last stage of work, we collect all the details in a single design. In the side walls of the profile, cut two triangular wedges. One side should be at 90, the second at 45 degrees. It will be a simple emphasis for cutting metal grinder in two positions.
