To make your own hands an original watch made in the popular design style - steampunk, you will need two large gears from the camshaft of the car, a part of the oil pump housing, a wooden clock covered with epoxy resin and various little things for decoration.
Before proceeding with the assembly of watches, the main structural elements (gears and part of the oil pump housing) must be cleaned to bare metal. To do this, you need gasoline or some kind of solvent, a metal brush and a brush nozzle for the grinder.
Note! When working with a grinder, be sure to use safety glasses and other personal protective equipment. Do not neglect standard precautions.!
When all the parts contaminated with oil are completely cleaned, you can proceed directly to painting the main components of the table clock. Paint is best to use black matte (or any other of your choice).
Desktop Clock Assembly Process
Using bolts and elongated nuts, we connect part of the oil pump with two gears from the camshaft. To the back of the case, it is necessary to screw a steel plate to fasten the wooden dial, after which we fasten the watch itself.
At the last stage, we decorate the whole structure with different decorative elements in the steampunk style. In this case, you can use sprockets, chains, nuts, spark plugs and other attributes related to automotive topics.
The result is a very unusual and stylish desk clock that fits perfectly into the interior with an industrial “character”, and also finds its place in the home workshop or garage.
