Sometimes it becomes necessary to fix together (in one plane) several blanks at once. A standard clamp with a small clamping “nickle” is not intended for this.
Although, of course, you can use some kind of rail of suitable length, which must be put on top of the workpieces.
But in this review, the author shares the idea of how to solve this problem differently. To do this, he proposes to make a powerful metal clamp with clamping jaws (as with ordinary bench vice).
The main stages of work
The first step is to cut off two bars of metal 15 cm long. Then, the master drills one hole in the workpieces. In one of the bars you need to cut the thread.
Next, it will be necessary to cut off the cap from the long bolt, and the remaining part is used as a guide. The hairpin is screwed into one of the clamping jaws, while the second is simply worn on it.
At the next stage, we drill one more hole for the screw in two bars. We screw the nut onto the screw, drill a hole in it, and insert a long bolt. So we got a screw with a knob.
Then, with the help of a grinder and a cutting wheel, it will be necessary to make notches on the pressure lips, and the homemade product is ready.
